Pre-requisite: has studied the Muqaddimah fi al-‘Illal course with the Madrasah.
A lesser known but significant work authored by Imam Muslim ibn Hajjaj dedicated to I’llal or hidden defects. He clarifies the mistakes of some narrators of hadith and shows where other narrators were correct. Imam Muslim demonstrates with precise expertise how mistakes can occur in both the matn or isnad of a hadith by showcasing examples. A very important work for students of hadith, particularly those in the intermediate levels of study, which shows the thought process and methods of early hadith scholars.
With his own specialization in ulum al-hadith, Shaykh Yusuf will explain the book and add his own commentary from a Hanbali background.
